As part of Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts, presented by the CFDA and the Urban Zen Foundation, John Patrick has created a one-of-a-kind hand-crafted contribution in the form of a heart covered in real kernels of dried corn.
"The Corn Heart is meant to explore and honor the Haitian farmers who are at the backbone of the true sustainability movement in Haiti. I am visiting Haiti as the guest of a farm family later in the year to learn more about the heritage seed movement in Haiti." -John Patrick
You can view the heart and place a bid up until May 2, 2013. All benefits will go to the Urban Zen Foundation.

We love this quote from Severine van Tscharner Fleming, the editor-in-chief of the New Farmer's Almanac: “A lot has changed for American agriculture since Ben Franklin wrote his (almanac), and we wonder how much will change yet. With this almanac, we assert our voices as new agrarians. No matter what the weather holds, we seek life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and farming is the way to get there."
