May Day Marches: A photo essay by John Patrick

Yesterday, a series of peaceful, organized marches took place throughout the streets of downtown Los Angeles, with thousands of participants sharing a variety of important messages. This year's May Day Marches focused on the timely Senate immigration bill, with marchers advocating for comprehensive immigration and citizenship reform including equal working opportunities and protections for legal immigrants and rights for binational same-sex couples. One group that participated in the marches was the Latino Equality Alliance, whose mission is to promote liberty, equality and justice for the Latino LGBT community.  John Patrick was in attendance and captured the following moments:
