Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts

As part of Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts, presented by the CFDA and the Urban Zen Foundation, John Patrick has created a one-of-a-kind hand-crafted contribution in the form of a heart covered in real kernels of dried corn.

"The Corn Heart is meant to explore and honor the Haitian farmers who are at the backbone of the true sustainability movement in Haiti. I am visiting Haiti as the guest of a farm family later in the year to learn more about the heritage seed movement in Haiti." -John Patrick

You can view the heart and place a bid up until May 2, 2013. All benefits will go to the Urban Zen Foundation.

Introducing the sustainable angle

The Sustainable Angle has put together a video recapping last year's Future Fabrics Expo, which took place at the London College of Fashion. Last year's expo featured a showcase of roughly 650 fashion fabrics that have a reduced environmental impact. The event also showcased John Patrick's incredible project with Lexus and VogueTV, in which he used materials from the 90% recyclable Lexus CT to create upcycled fashion.

Check out the Lexus Fashion Workshop with John Patrick below:

The next Future Fabrics Expo will be held in Copenhagen on September 8-10 this year.
